Matthew Janiszewski was Ball Turret Gunner on B-17 "Liberty Queen" #43-37624, shot down by fighters and crashed near Glauchau, Germany on the 20 July 1944 mission to Leipzig. He managed to evade capture for a few days before being captured on 24 July at 21:30 near Stenn, 4km SW of Zwickau, Germany. Prisoner of War (POW)
