Military ROLL OF HONOURShot down 24 May 1944 in B-17 42-32113. Killed in Action (KIA). Flew on Robert Ehrler crew. Thirty seconds after bombs away a direct flak hit severed the tail and elecators. A/C went up into a steep stall, stood on its back and then went almost straight down in a flat spin from 27,000ft. The four crew in the rear were probably killed by the flak burst.
