MilitaryAssigned to 67BS, 44BG, 8AF USAAF. Failed to Return (FTR) Wilhelmshaven 22-Mar-43 in B-24 41-23832 'Maggie'; hit by flak in the target area, lost altitude and fell out of the formation, attacked by fighters. Crashed into North Sea, vicinity of Alte Mellum Island. Prisoner of War (POW) MACR 15585
Two survived; Klug and Walker who were picked up by a ship and brought to Heligoland. Klug had lost consciousness in the cold, rough waters.
