Crash landed at Kent 22 June 1943 in B-17 #423226 'Little Chuck' with no injuries to crew.

Bombardier, Butler crew. Member of the Jobe crew. 381st BG, 533rd BS. Squadron Bombardier. Landed with Lt Butler and 2 others after the pilot ordered the crew to bail out. Lt Brown accidentally deployed his parachute inside of the aircraft and became trapped. The 6 others bailed out.

The 533rd BS War Diary has the men who bailed out as landing near the airfield at West Malling in Kent then returning to duty. The 242nd Medical Detachment War Diary lists them as POW's.
