Kenneth A Boyd

Military

Ken recalled a mission to Munich when they hit a weather front and 'scattered like quail'. They headed back to England running out of fuel called a 'Mayday' and prepared to bail out. They were then directed to an air strip, a very small and bumpy field' where they landed and were applauded by a crowd of people. The strip was attached to a factory which employed handicapped people; a factory which was nevertheless able to produce one twin-engined bomber a month.
