MilitaryRemoval of crash landed B-17's from airfield at nights with dedicated mechanics using inadequate equipment. These were 1st Div planes sent from various bases due to landing gear malfunction. They had to be removed before dawn. The construction of a battle ready B-17 from cannibalized parts, all done by tired mechanics after normal working hours, on their own free time.
