John H Ross
MilitaryFlew many times for Col. Roosevelt, Ross was shot down over the North Sea while flying a photo reconnaissance mission. Pronounced dead, he was later recovered and honored for his survival. He flew 96 missions and captured photographs essential to victory at the Battle of the Bulge.
