The aircraft was ditched in sea of Goodwin Sands, UK after sustaining battle damage from AA fire over the target of the German airfield of Lille/Vanderville, France 5 crew were rescued but flight engineer John Park was lost. 386th BG was part of the 8th BG from July-October 1943.
