John A Denman
MilitaryTransferred biography to person record
Enlisting in his hometown of Houston, TX, on 25 November 1940, Capt. John A. Denman flew with the 368th Fighter Squadron, 359th Fighter Group, from 25 October 1944 through 22 September 1945. Capt. Denman flew 26 of his 56 combat missions in P-51K CV-T 44-11758 "Silky."
April 1945: Col. Baccus led the Group for the first time on the 13th - a ramrod to Gustrow - and he led it well. Better than half of the total month's aircraft were destroyed in a strafing run and all of the 18 locos were blown up. Lt. John A. Denman got four and Lt. Kenneth E. Barber three for the high single scores, when the 368th Sq. hit the deck near Neumunster. Totals for the day were 19-0-0 (ground) and 18-0-3 in locos - a remarkable accurate score.
Oct. 1944-Sept. 1945, P-51K 44-11758 'Silky'

All Air Medals in his file were awarded during World War II. Without his personnel records it is unknown how many campaigns he participated in regarding the EAME Campaign Medal but it was at least one.
