A combined force of 136 P-47s is despatched from 4FG, 56FG and 78FG to provide an escort for the heavy bombers attacking at Antwerp, Belgium. The fighters are instructed to stay close with the bomber formation and give defensive support. The fighers claim 7-0-0 of the enemy fighters with no losses.
