Description

1 B-17 from 482BG is desptached on a special night operation to test "Oboe". Intended target not in source data. The aircraft sustained an oxygen leak and had to abort the mission. The bomb load of 2 2000lb general purpose bombs and one 1000lb photoflash were jettisoned in the sea juts off the French coast. There are no losses or claims.



6 B-17s from 305BG/422BS are despatched on a night operation to drop leaflets on the cities of Rouen, Paris, Caen and Amiens, France and Ghent, Belgium 1,200,00 leaflets are dropped. There are no losses or claims.
