Description

Two operations are included: 7th Photographic Reconnaissance Group despatches 4 F-5s on phot reconnaissance sorties over France. No losses or claims.



In a operation by 479 Air Services Group (anti-submarine) 1 B-24 is shot down NW of Cabo Ortegal, Spain while flying an anti-submarine patrol over the Bay of Biscay. This event is not included in Roger Freeman's "The Mighty Eighth War Diary" but is documented with two Missing Air Crew Reports (MACRs) 152 and 257. Also confirmed in the "Losses of the 8th & 9th Air Forces", Stan Bishop & John A. Hey MBE.
