SSGT James O. Auman recuperating from being wounded on the 9 August 1944 mission. He was flying with Crew #421 - Eugene Godbout Crew as a replacement gunner that day instead of with his regular crew (Crew #431 - Robert H. Taylor Crew). The nurse in the middle and the other recuperating patient are unknown. It is known that the other wounded man was an armament specialist who had lost a thumb and part of his right hand loading bombs onto a B-24. This may be at the 65th American General Hospital.
