A P-47 Thunderbolt of the 404th Fighter Group. Probably the 508th FS's 7J-X serial 225873 a P47-D22 issued to the 404th FG in April 1944 at Winkton (USAAF Station 414). Usually flown by Jack Tueller, the plane was called Roseanne. Other pilots who flew it occasionally at Winkton were Claude O'Brien, Lucien Herrera, Harry Nystrom and Joe Landa. Rosanne was one of the few 404th P-47s flying beach patrol missions to see and tried to intercept enemy aircraft on D Day June 6th when Jack Tueller and Bert Abrahams attempted to intercept two FW190s attacking shipping off the beaches.
