Captain Walker and his crew the day after flying over Brest, France at 600 feet. He brought his battered ship back to base by bouncing the ball turret on the waves i the channel.

    30 Dec 1942 piloted B-17F 'Boom Town' when a/c was hit by flak then fighters. Bombardier Bentinck was fatally wounded on mission and Walker landed at RAF Station St Eval, Cornwall on the mission's return.
