I was invited to attend the dedication ceremony of a plaque in Saint Pair sur Mer in June 2017. The plaque was installed right on the seashore outside of Saint Pair. It honors two Allied planes brought down in this exact vicinity of France in July, 1944 - Spare Parts & an RAF Handley Page Halifax. My hosts (and inviters) were a lovey ex-pat British couple, retired to France, named Briarty. They were fabulous and did all of the translation needed as I speak no French.

They requested some family history on Peter Igoe before he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. This is what I sent them. Note that Mrs. Briarty inserted French translations of 1940s American slang. Precious to me.

I have many photos of this trip in full color and will be posting them over the next month or so.
