P-51B "Hat Jane" 354th FS-355th FG-8th AF This ship was first coded WR-A and was recoded WR-P when it was lost on 7 June 1944. Hit by Flak in the vicinity of Nogent-le-Rotrou, the pilot Robert D. Couture succeeded in making a belly landing on the side of a small hill near the village of Vicheres. This ship had been christened by Captain Robert Kurtz after his sister.
