A B-17 Flying Fortress (BX-W, serial number 43-38777) nicknamed "Peder's Parade" of the 96th Bomb Group at Kopblenz. Image via Peder Larsen. Handwritten on front of print: "Ship 777 after landing at Koblenz." Larsen has enclosed a letter with the image: '777 after Mission to Dresden on April 17, 1945 where we lost 2 engines on Bomb Run, dropped bombs just after IP and took immediate heading back to France. We made an emergency landing ata fighter field of Coblenz [sic] and left the ship there. We took a truck back through Germany & France and picked up a 1st Division Ship # 506 and flew it back to England leaving it at its base. (Picked up this ship at Lil, France) ... Picture is of 777 with 2 Inboard engines feathered with 3 of my crew members sitting on the ground in front of ship. I understand the 2 engines were repaired and the ship was flown back to the States as after that I never saw it on our base.'
