"STRAFING HAZARD. . Lt. Howard A. Spaulding, P-51 Mustang pilot, of Monticella, N.Y., examines damage done to his plane upon returning from a recent strafing mission over Chartres, France. While shooting up an enemy train, he was flying low enough for part of a tree to penetrate the leading edge of his ships wing so as to give the effect of an additional 50 cal. gun opening. The Lt flew his damaged ship home safely."
