B-24 Liberator, 42-40128, Ball of Fire III - War Baby, was a veteran of the Ploesti bombing mission. 1 Aug 1943. The aircraft was lost on her final mission after receiving damage from attacking ME-109s after the Hjeller-Oslo, Norway, mission. 18 Nov 43 This photo is from Sweden after the crew was interned in Falon. - Note : It has been disarmed. It was scrapped in 1945 and never flown again.
