Officer's Pay Data card for Colonel Hubert Zemke, 56th Fighter Group, for nine years service. Zemke has handwritten on the reverse: 'Hubert Zemke's Pay Data Card July 1945. At the end of WW2 here was my pay as a Temporary Full Colonel, US Army Air Corps, 10 July 1945. Thank goodness I received flying pay, $208.33, or things could have been tight, $250 per month had been allotted home to my wife plus $75 Class B Allottment to savings. Now a local janitor gets as much and wants a raise.'
