A crew of the 1586 Polish Special Duties Flight with their B-24 Liberator GR-S, BZ965 at their base in Brindisi in Italy, after the long journey to Warsaw with supplies for the fighting Home Army. Flight Lieutenant Zbigniew Szostak, the CO of the crew, is second from the right. The emblem on the aircraft stands for '?mier? na zasobniku' - 'Death on the Container'. The flags on the left indicate the countries to which the Liberator flew with the supplying missions.
