An 855th Bomb Squadron, 491st Bomb Group B-24 Liberator (V2-X+, serial number 42-50757) after it crash-landed near Florrenes in Belgium on the 17th of October 1944. The aircraft was critically damaged by flak over Cologne. Handwritten caption on reverse: 'X+ Murff. 855th Sq., 491st BG. #250757. Florrenes, Belgium. Flak damage over Cologne Oct. 17, 1944 caused this result from emergency landing. Nose wheel collapsed and was standing on nose. This shot shows ship after it had been levelled. Ted Parker, Waist Gunner.'
