Detailed History
B24J 42-51241 was apparently caught in propwash, and was thrown over on its back on the way back from a mission. The crew did not have time to escape the aircraft before it started to break up, and it crashed close to St Lawrence, with all crew lost. There is a memorial in this churchyard, and a small hand-lettered remembrance in the church.
