Detailed History
On 21 July 1944, five members of the crew of B-17 42-97350 bailed out of their aircraft and landed near Urach and Schollach, Germany.
Three of the fliers were taken into custody in the police station in Urach, while Kornblau and Radomski were taken to the city hall in Schollach, before being marched to the local woods where they were shot and murdered.
A small plaque commemorates the site where the airmen were killed, close to Schollach. It's exact location is:
