The image shown is my father William Coombs Clark. He flew the Happy I, II, III and IV. He remained stateside in the early part of the was training pilots. In 1944 he was transferred to Fowlmere, England as a fighter pilot in the 505th (339th FG) and then became the Squadron Commander in early 1945 through the end of the war. He was born in Maine, October 20, 1916 and died October 8, 1988. He had a 33 yr. career in the Air Force and retired in June 1968.
