Wilfred A Bouchard
MilitaryShot down 1 December 1943 in B-17 42-39836.
When Bouchard was shot down he landed in a field west of the Dutch border with Belgium where Polish POW's were working. On landing he had broken his foot and was collected by the local police who treated him decently. He was then transferred to a hospital in Bonn where a Polish POW medic put his foot in a cast. After the customary interrogation process he was sent to Stalag Luft 1 where he joined up with his pilot and navigator and where he remained until liberated by the Russians.
