Weldon Brandt Frantz
MilitaryAfter being hit by flak on a mission to St Jean d'Angely airfield, FR on 27 Mar 1944, B-17G #42-31363 was ditched in the Bay of Biscay. Prisoner of War (POW). Completed 4 missions.
POW
He was believed by many in his small hometown to have died in the war, so there was celebration upon his family receiving news that he was still alive and being held as a POW, but also fear as to whether he would return. Peter never spoke about his time as a prisoner of war, and even some of his closest younger relatives only learned about that fact after his death.
