Assigned to 369BS, 306BG, 8AF USAAF. On 17-Nov-42, while serving as Co-Pilot of B-17 41-24496 his aircraft was attacked by FW190s after leaving the target area near St. Nazaire, France. The TTG Aulenbach was killed and 3 crew members as the plane suffered severe damage. The Pilot, Capt Robert C. Williams was able to fly the aircraft back to England and land at RAF Exeter. The aircraft was salvaged for parts.
Shot down 1-7Apr-43 in B-17 42-29631 'Unmentionable'. Killed in Action (KIA). Crashed at Wiesens, Germany after attacks by waves of German fighters while flying as part of the lead squadron targeting Bremen. Pilot, Warren George and TTG were killed, but other crew members survived and became Prisoner of War (POW)s. 2KIA 8POW MACR 15444.
