He registered for the WW II draft on 12 December 1942, and was listed as a student at Troy Business College, in Troy, New York. He was 6' 1" tall; weighed 156 pounds; had brown hair, blue eyes and a 'light' complexion.

He entered the service on 16 March 1943 from Albany, New York. He enlisted as a Private; he had four years of high school education, was single, without dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Undefined code".

He was a member of the 437th TCG Association and was listed on their rosters from 1972 until 2006 and attended several of their reunions.

We have him listed on the 437th TCG Special Orders #195, dated 27 December 1943. These were the orders generated at Pope Field (Fort Bragg, NC) for the first phase of movement by air and by rail of the 437th personnel to their eventual overseas deployment; we also have him listed as participating in one 437th flight as a passenger: the Dragoon Movement in July 1944.
