Victor Larson
Military2ndLt. Victor Larson was the Navigator/Nose gunner on the B-24D, 41-11766, Chug-A-Lug. Lt. Larson flew on Operation Tidal Wave, over the Ploesti oil refineries, piloted by Lt. Leroy B. Morgan. Lt. Victor Larson, TSgt. Robert Tipton, and TSgt. James Van Ness, were badly wounded by flak splinters over Ploesti. Lt. Larson and Sgt. Tipton survived their wounds and returned to their home base, at Benghazi, Libya. TSgt Van Ness died of his wounds at his station in his plane, Chug-A-Lug. 2 WIA - 1 KIA. 1 Aug 43.
