Robert Aerol Nendel (Bob) was born on March 30th, 1923 to James and Bessie Nendel. He had 2 brothers (James and William) and 2 sisters (Lenore and Juanita).
Bob served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from late 1944 to late 1945, during which he was decorated with an Air medal, four Clusters, and two Presidential Citations.
In April of 1946 he met his (very) soon to be wife, Dorothy Turnmire. They wed in Nevada on May 17th, 1946. Sadly, she passed away on September 2nd, 2007.
Bob co-owned A and B Body Works in Prineville with his friend and business partner, Art Welch, for more than 56 years.
He was a member of the VFW for more than 60 years. He also belonged to the Eagles, Cooties, Elks, and American Legion.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and cribbage with his wife.
He has 4 daughters; Patricia (Patty), Dolores (Dee), Barbara (passed away August 28th, 2012), and Carol. Between them, he has eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; his parents, his brother James, his sister, Lenore, and one grandchild.
