Ralph Ward Jones
MilitaryRalph Jones was Co-Pilot B-17F-20-BO #41-24508 on 27 October 1942 while flying in a 2 ship low level formation mission. The Fortress hit some trees and Pilot Raymond Check was able to make a safe landing and all returned to action. On 1 March 1943, Lt. Jones piloted B-17 #41-24476 'Adorable' in a local training flight that was involved in a mid-air collision with B-17 #42-5251 flown by CPT. John M. Regan. Jones landed wheels up at Chelveston with minor cuts to the crew as the only injuries.
