Lt. Col. Paul B Fine, born in Mpls. MN.USA. A heavily decorated, lifetime active member of the US armed services. He served as a B-24 lead navigator in the Eighth Air Force in WWII based in England, where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Paul completed 29 missions as a lead navigator when the war in Europe ended. Paul was in the 489th Bomb group, 846th Squadron. This involved ferrying B-26 bombers from California to Japan without the "mother ship"- which is a long range bomber or transport that goes with for navigation. His elder brother Ralph I Fine, served as a Eighth Air Force copilot and pilot on 24+ missions out of Norwich, England, from Attlebridge. For more details, read book: Carioca-Bev, on amazon.com.
