Lyle B Latimer
Military"Iowans of the Mighty Eighth", Chapter 26 "Biographies", by Charles D Taylor.
Lyle was a public school principal when joined the Air Corps in June 1942, training in Colorado and Texas. In April 1944 he was deployed to the ETO and was assigned to the 44th BG at Shipham where he flew on 31 combat missions. He afterwards returned to teaching and schools administration.
