Cpl Loren Howarth
9-Nov-42 while ferrying B-17 to UK, crew was instructed to search for missing C-53. B-17 42-5088 crashed near Kjoge Bay and aircraft broke in two. A resuce attempt was mounted with a Grumman Goose seaplane, 'Lolly' Howarth having survived the crash of the B-17 unfortunately didn't survive the subsequent crash of the Grumman Goose, his remains were not recovered.
