On 5 Jan 1944 in B-24H #41-29116 after T/O aircraft had numerous mechanical problems and unable to land the crew was ordered to bale out. A/C crashed. Shot down by fighters on mission to Brunswick on 20 Feb 1944 in B-24H #42-64434 'Shoe Shoe Baby'. All crew baled out before a/c crashed near Bad Gandersheim, GR. Prisoner of War (POW).
