Gressenhall, Dereham, Norfolk, UK | 27 March 1944 | S/Sgt. Haire was killed while on his third mission as a radio-gunner on a Liberator bomber March 27, 1944, over Deerdens, England. Born April 17, 1924, in Salt Lake City, he was a son of James Curtis and Margaret Caulfield Haire. He was graduated from Judge Memorial high school in 1942 and was attending the University of Utah at the time of his enlistment Dec. 21, 1942. He went overseas Feb. 10, 1944 as a member of the Eighth air force. Rosary will be recited by Rev. Lamothe at the residence Friday at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery where the graveside military honors will be accorded by the American Legion, Salt Lake Post No. 2.
