Military ROLL OF HONOURAssigned to 7BS, 34BS, 8AF USAAF. B-24 42-94849 'Maid of Fury' ditched in the English Channel with fuel lines severed and 3 engines out. Pilot and co-pilot were unable to bale out due to altitude and were ejcted from the aircraft upon ditching. Lt Ferris drowned, his body not being recovered by the RN destroyer that rescued the survivors. MACR 7372. Killed in Action (KIA)
