Col. G. K "Rocky" Eubank was a decorated WWII combat pilot and intelligence officer with the National Security Agency. A native of Throckmorton, Texas, he learned to fly crop dusting planes at an early age. A ham radio set let him know there was a wide world to explore. He joined the Air Force in 1942 and set off on a lifetime of adventure. He served in WWII, The Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War.

Col. Eubank flew Martin B-26 Mauraders with the 322nd Bomber Group, and the 449th Bomb Squadron. He flew more than 70 combat missions in the European Theater. He was exceptionally proud of being one of the few pilots to fly "Flak Bait" and was devoted to his plane "Murder Inc." which he safely crash landed in France, on Christmas Day 1942, after it was hit on a bombing run.

Col. Eubank attended the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. Eubank graduated from the University of Oklahoma.

Col. Eubank flew 102 missions in Korea and worked in military intelligence as the base commander of the 6937th Communications Group at Peshawar Air Station in Badabar, Pakistan and Torii Station in Okinawa during the Vietnam War.

He joined the National Security Agency (NSA) in the early 1950s, shortly after it was created.

Col. Eubank was posted to Germany, Turkey, France, Pakistan and Okinawa.

An enthusiastic ham radio operator from his boyhood, his call sign was W5QYW. He was a faithful member of the Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge in Pirmasens, Germany, a member of the Scottish Rite-Suez Temple, and a Shriner.

Col. Eubank was deeply kind, fair, considerate, and courageous. He was a fearless leader, always putting his men first. He loved his family and friends and they adored him. Above all, he was a true patriot whose spirit lives on in everyone he touched, especially his wife Ruth, his daughter Karen and his grandson Rowan Barcham.

Colonel Eubank was born July 27, 1922 in Throckmorton, Texas. He died on September 3, 2003.

"Col. Eubank was a very loyal and powerful worker for the security and freedom of our nation. His memory will live forever in the history of information, collection and processing." -Luther Tarbox

"Rocky and Ruth are role models for our generation. Their life of service has been filled with adventure and reward. Through their eyes, we have been able to not only see the world as it has been, but how it should be , and how our contributions can make a difference in the lives of others." -Teena Gritch McMills.

"Rocky was just so kind, such a good man"- Carol Smith
