George L Martin
Military ROLL OF HONOURLt. Martin joined the USAAF from Pennslyvania. His plane was shot down by flak and crashed near Paris in B-17 #4297524 Killed in Action (KIA). The flak hit the number 3 engine and the plane went out of control while three crewmen managed to bail out. Then Lt. Martin regained control of the airship long enough to enable another four crewmen to parachute out before the plane disappeared in its own smoke and out of sight.
