Lt. George J. Byron enlisted 14 December 1942 in Springfield, MA. From Waterbury, CT, he was assigned to the 368th Fighter Squadron on 25 March 1945 and flew four combat missions before completing his tour of duty with the 359th Fighter Group in September 1945.
