On a mission to Romilly-sur-Seine, FR on 5 Feb 1944, the number one engine on B-17F #42-3329 'Skippy' ran away and then caught fire. The crew baled out and the a/c crashed Saleshurst, Sussex. RTD. Shot down 8 March 1944 in B-17 #42-37812 'Heavenly Body. ' Prisoner of War (POW).
