2nd Lt. Edward Dibs was born and raised in Kings City, New York Pilot B-17 in combat with the 97th Bomb Group (H) 340th Bomb Squadron (H) assigned to the 99th Bomb Group (H) 15th Air Force flying out of Italy. Completed 5 missions and shot down on 5th mission at Budapest, Hungary and retained as a Prisoner of War for 10 months. Piloted single and twin and 4 engine planes with Air Service Command at Mobile, Alabama and the Army Air Force Training Command, Florida.
