12 missions-3 to Berlin during March 1944. Last mission 9 April 1944 to Posen, Poland in B-17 #4232070. Was hit by anti-aircraft fire. Left leg was broken in 2 places. Were shot down in Denmark. Taken to a hospital in Nakshov. Spent 4 months there in traction, then to 3 Prisoner of War (POW) camps in Germany, #6, #4, #1. Liberated by the Russians.
