First Lieutenant Charles R. Lewis, of the 303rd Bomb Group, climbs into a Piper L-4 Grasshopper. The R.A.F. are a swell outfit, and really give us a lot of help". This message comes to you from First Lieutenant Charles R. Lewis, of 2515 Phillips Avenue, Chicago, Ill. as he climbs into the cockpit at an American air station somewhere in England. An industrial engineer with Standard Oil Co. before the war, Lt. Lewis made the change over to Air Corps very smoothly. He is 32, married, and though he likes lots of things in England, will be glad to see Chicago again.'
