MilitaryPrisoner of War (POW) crashed near Prun, Belgium in B-17 #44-8249 'Fredee' on 24 Dec, '44. Hit by flak Took out #3 engine. Aircraft peeled off into a shallow dive then spiraled down in flames. Tail gunner of Larson's crew reported two chutes. Five crew survived: F/O TG John Hamon; 1st/Lt Buell Hoagland, NAV; 2nd/Lt Glen Gladfalder, MO; 2nd/Lt John Selyer, BB; 2nd/Lt Russell Hass, NAV. KIA were pilot 1st/Lt Jay Kenworthy; Major Carl Thomjan, Command; T/Sgt Martin Rafales, ENG; T/Sgt Vincent Sullivan, RO; S/Sgt Carl Lambert, WG.
