Prisoner of War (POW) Crashed at Nurnberg on 9/10/44 in B-17 Gung Ho #42-31134. In June 1987 he paid a visit to the spot where he came down.

He was after the war Vice-President of the National Cash Register Corp. Dayton Ohio.

In his retirement he contacted as many survivors of room 9 , Barracks 9, Compound Two, Stalag Luft 1 at Barth as he could locate. They held their first reunion in 1985.
