Waterbury, CT, USA 10 March 2012 WATERBURY — Mr. Adolphe William English Jr., age 92, of Waterbury, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. He was the husband of the late Genevieve (Bulger) English. Mr. English was born in Bridgeport on Jan. 4, 1920, son of the late Adolphe William English Sr. and the late Margaret (Hoffman) English. He was retired from Bavier, Bulger and Goodyear Management Consultants where he worked as a management consultant for many years and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Waterbury. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during World War II. He was a member and past officer of the American Legion Post No. 17 in Naugatuck and the Waterbury Lodge of Elks. Mr. English spent many hours volunteering with Literacy Volunteers and also administered G.E.D. exams and delivered books to shut-ins for many years. Mr. English is survived by four daughters, Brenda Kirkowski and her husband, Michael, of California, Kathleen McLaughlin of Naugatuck, Dorann Poynter of California and Mary Eileen Lee of Waterbury; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
