Bishop Adna W Leonard was a Methodist prelate of Washington who had just finished a tour of Army and Navy station in Europe when he was killed in an aircraft crash on 3 May 1943. B-24 #41-23728 'Hot Stuff' crashed in Iceland in very bad weather, killing all but the tail gunner.
